The Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Nutrition Program (WIC) is a federal program designed to provide food to low-income pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women, infants and children until the age of five. The program provides a combination of nutrition education, supplemental foods, breastfeeding promotion and support, and referrals to health care and social service agencies. The WIC Program is available to eligible participants without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age or handicap.
The Cal Learn Program is designed to provide counseling and supportive services to pregnant and parenting teens.  The purpose of the program is to support the teens as they complete high school. The program provides case management until the client obtains a high school diploma. Support can include

The program is designed to assist the young people with guidance and life counseling. Counselors monitor school progress and assist with ancillary needs including health care, family planning, nutrition, education, transportation, housing and other services.

Good nutritional habits formed early in life can prevent health problems later. Community Resource Project through the WIC program provides information about nutrition and health to help you and your family to eat well and be healthy.
WIC can help you and your family to find a doctor and get your children immunized.  WIC will also provide referrals to other social services such as Medi-Cal, CalWORKs, Food Stamps, CHDP Gateway, Child Support and substance abuse treatment and prevention.  For more information about referrals click HERE.
Community Resource Project offers nutrition training to paraprofessionals in the Greater Sacramento area. The Regional Training Center (RTC) for paraprofessionals, led by two of CRP Health Division's registered dietitians, offers two series throughout the year. The series is intended as a supplement to WIC Nutrition Assistant training. The sessions focus on individual populations that WIC serves: Infant Nutrition, Child Nutrition, Nutrition during Pregnancy, Postpartum Nutrition and Nutrition during Lactation as well as Basic Nutrition and Customer Service topics. Sessions may be taken as a series or stand-alone.

Classes through the RPTC are offered to employees of WIC programs throughout California.  For more information or to register for a session, contact one of our WIC Agencies.
